
Unskilled Laborer
Job Summary
The Unskilled Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at various construction site projects. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers and will work generally as a member of a crew.
Qualification
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to communicate and understand English. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and experience using different hand tools.

Operate necessary pipeline equipment.

Excavate and backfill trenches for service and mains.

Clean work area, construction crew trucks, tools, and equipment.

Perform all duties in a safe manner.

Work cooperatively with those contracted in the course of work.

Work Environment
Work Schedule is Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise levels at the job sites are usually loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
