
General Superintendent
Job Summary
The General Superintendent’s directly supervises superintendents, foremen & field labor force, including laborers/craft workers.
Qualification
Must have at least 8 years of experience in all aspects of civil site construction supervision within the parameters and conditions of Central Florida. Must have exceptional organization skills with keen attention to detail, deadlines and accuracy. Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook software. Experience in HCSS software helpful but not required. Experience in reading and interpreting construction documents to include permits, specifications, design standards, detail drawings, plan drawings, budgets, project schedules and contracts. Experience writing professional business correspondence. Experience with high proficiency in clearing and grubbing, earth-moving operations, dewatering, all underground utility systems to include class V fire line, roadway preparation and construction, project close out and inspection. Good driving history. Must have and display the ability to maintain self-composure and calm demeanor in all stressful situations.
Essential Functions

Oversee superintendents and their projects and report directly to the General Manager on their progress.

Ensure that superintendents follow company policy in regard to as-built plans, required job site paperwork/documentation, purchase order and pull list procedures.

Walk projects to ensure that work is being completed to the highest company standards, working directly with the superintendents and project managers.

Monitor superintendents' use of general labor and all other general condition expenses on their projects.

Develop superintendents skills for continued growth and knowledge.

Review project schedules and ensure project milestones are achieved through following Company schedule policies.

Develop schedules with superintendents to meet scheduled mile post dates utilizing both Microsoft Project and Heavy Job.

Ensures proper signage is posted on all job sites at all times.

Oversees on-site safety implementation with labor and subcontractors.

Attend periodic project meetings to ensure Company is up-to-date on the customer and project requirements.

Ensures that all Company Safety Policies and OSHA standards are followed by all persons on all job sites.

Work Environment
Work Schedule is Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise levels at the job sites are usually loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
